Meet Our Team of Personal Assistants AMY PATWA Amy grew up in Charlotte and graduated from UNC Charlotte with a degree in Psychology and Child/Family Development. After teaching Pre-Kindergarten for two years, Amy accepted a position with Young Life from 2006 to 2011 as the Regional Administrator. In June of 2010, Amy was diagnosed with stage 3 Breast Cancer. She immediately started inductive chemotherapy, which lasted 6 rounds. Amy underwent 33 radiation treatments that were completed in February 2011. Amy’s faith has carried her through this difficult trial. After experiencing some pains in her chest, many tests and a biopsy confirmed that her cancer was back in July 2011. Amy is currently undergoing a second round of chemo this year. Using her life experiences, her passion for relational ministry, and serving others, Amy is able to help Simplicity’s clients learn to simplify their lives. Amy’s desire is to free her clients with more time in order for them to focus on what is important to them. Amy has been married to her husband, Adam, for 5 years and they have a beautiful daughter named Charis.  SARA VAN KIRKSara recently moved to Charlotte from Pittsburgh, PA. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Service and is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, which includes studies in ADD, ADHD, family systems, etc. Sara has spent the last three years as an executive/personal assistant for the president of a 501(c)3 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she mastered the art of managing multiple schedules, prioritizing meetings and events, and assisting with efficient communication. Sara enjoys the uniqueness of every family and takes delight in making someone else’s life a little simpler. Outside of work, Sara enjoys volunteering with youth and playing sports.
